We don't make this claim lightly. We shred to an RCMP security level 3. Many of our competitors use mobile shredding trucks that have difficulty achieving a level 1 status.
There are at least two reasons for that.
First, the smaller the shred size, the more time it takes to shred your confidential papers. The first concern of many of the mult-national shredding companies is to put through volume.
Secondly, shredding causes a lot of dust, and the smaller paper is shredded, the more dust it creates. This can be a fire hazard, and in fact, there have been a number of incidences of mobile shred trucks catching fire because of this hazard. As a result, most mobile shredders will not shred beyond a security level 1. In many cases, their insurance company won't let them.
